SJCE trees

June 22nd, 2008 — 10:05 pm

Today, our SJCE campus which already one of the greenest places in Mysore became even more greener. We planted about 60 trees today within the campus, mostly courtesy of Surya and group. All of them are 2005 SJCE alumni. Now they have more than one connection with the SJCE campus.
This would not have been possible without the help of JSS Director of Horticulture, Shivashankarappa. From our experience with government officials, we thought that he may also have some specific requirement of trees. To our surprise, he gave us complete freedom to plant any tree. In his words: “Kaadu aagli bidi aa jaaga (Let that place be a forest)”.

We plan to put up a board over there sometime with a reference to the origin of the forest in the future when the trees are a little older.
Lots more can be planted in SJCE. Anyone wants to grow a forest?
